Bromham

Today I drove to Bromham Water Mill, but sadly the mill wasn't open. There were some nice trees about though and it was sunny.

Stevington Windmill

This week has been a busy one. I started working at emc design, in Stevington, Bedfordshire, as a temporary junior designer. It's all going well and that's all I'm saying about that for now. However, just behind where I'm working is a field with a lovely windmill in it – it is in a country village after all. I spent two of my lunch breaks wandering over to it and I took some pictures on my phone.

Letters.
Sitting on the windmill steps.

The Moon

First clear sky in over a week meant that I jumped at the chance to use my new telescope. I say new but really we just salvaged it from my grandparent’s house. Conveniently the moon was nice and bright, very nearly full. Here’s a photograph taken with dad’s zoomy-zoom camera – lined up with the telescope.

Alice’s A–Z of Falmouth

Today had been a good day anyway but the discovery of this wonderful postcard from Alice when I got home made the day that extra bit better. She not only sent these cards to all of her favourite Falmouth friends, she also illustrated and came up with the idea in the first place. A personalised A–Z of Falmouth for our group.

Just a sample:
A is for Apple Mac
G is for Graphic Design
J is for Jacob's Ladder
P is for Pasties & Pro Markers
S is for the Sea & Sea Swimming
W is for Woodlane

Because it is a Sunday

Because it is a Sunday, and I am sat snuggly in my sea swimming hoody, this postcard is vaguely appropriate. Although the closest I got to swimming today was having a shower, unless you count the ten minutes I spent standing in the back garden in the rain – refreshing.

Sums up sea swimming pretty well though.

ps. I'm not saying the actual illustration content is anywhere near good, I just like and appreciate the message.

Compulsory Cornish Trees

We all know I like trees. Cornish trees are a particular favourites of mine, and so Glendurgan Gardens on the Helford river, is a perfect day out for me. The added walk along the river was also lovely.

Foxy.
Exotic-looking maze.
Bamboo.
Beach on the Helford river.
Beach further along the river, at Helford Passage.
And some Cornish palm trees.

St Michael's Mount

One of the most picturesque places in Cornwall, although to be fair almost everything in Cornwall is picturesque. Lovely day out all the same.

Spectacular view and a nice tree.
