Marbling

I’m working on a record sleeve at the moment, although very slowly, for a band called The Electric Crayon Set. It’s for an album that was out on CD several years ago but they want to re-release it on vinyl. I’ve got the lettering for the band name and the album title (What a Rotter of a Day) vaguely sorted – I need to re-draw it/tweak it a bit but there’s lots more to do.

Today I spent an hour or so creating art like I did in primary school – not finger painting or potato printing but marbling. Basically you have a tray filled with water and drop different coloured oil paints into the water, swirl it around and place paper on the surface. This is what you get…
