Cornwall Film Festival re-brand reality

Cornwall Film Festival approached the UCF graphic design course earlier this year wanting to give their brand a re-fresh. I was one of four students who created complete re-design proposals and it was my designs that they picked to be developed further.

I met with Tiffany, the director of the film festival, and Martin Nixon of Nixon Design on Monday this week. They both gave some great positive feedback which enabled me to put finishing touches to my design and send it all off, a couple of days later, ready to be used for real. With any luck, something will be going to the printers soon.

So, meet the new Cornwall Film Festival chough:

Degree results are in.

I am very happy to say I got what I wanted and had hoped for, a 2.1 – and a high 2.1 at that. Time to celebrate, first with cake!

Multiple film cameras

Disposable cameras are fun and generally tend to come out with fairly alright photographs, I bought a couple two years ago and only just used up the last one. My "cat cam" on the other hand is pretty terrible, but I love it anyway – can you refuse a camera that meows?

Most of the photographs are exclusively for Facebook but here's some nice ones.

Degree show and the end

Finally got a photograph alongside my degree show space yesterday when my parents had a look around. Tomorrow it all comes down and then it really will be the end… at least until results are published next Thursday.

Bryan Nash Gill's woodcuts

I love trees, I love wood and woodgrain. So, I love these literal woodcut prints by Bryan Nash Gill. They would look amazing printed really massive, like that huge slice of tree in the Natural History Museum.

UCF Illustration 2012

I had a little wander around the Falmouth Illustration degree show this morning and I must say it was very impressive. Unfortunately most people had run out of business cards so I only picked up two, however this website – the agency – links to all of the graduates' own websites.

There was a lot of great work but I'm just going to blog my three favourites.

FXU 2012/13 Hoodie Design

I entered a competition to design the illustration/logo that would appear on next years FXU (Falmouth and Exeter Student Union) hoodies, and won. My design is of Pendennis castle or a sand castle, whichever you think is more appropriate.
