Logs (& trees)

Ouzel Valley Park is a large sprawling ‘linear’ park in Milton Keynes with a winding waterway, fields, medieval village remains and a poplar tree plantation. Here, yeah you guessed it, I took some photos of trees. More specifically the inside of trees – or the sawn off end of some logs anyway. It’s so interesting [to me] how each tree is different, inside and out. I could have taken so many more photos… but I already looked like enough of a weirdo to passing runners and cyclists.

These are just taken on my iPhone, with a bit of Instagram. I’ll go again with my camera sometime. (I did take my camera there back in January when it was still a bit flooded, but the sun was shining.)

Proving Milton Keynes isn't all about roundabouts

My friend Ruby came to visit me today. She lives near Cambridge and has been here a few times (and I there) in the last year or so, but prior to today we tended to venture out of Milton Keynes. We’ve been to Tring Natural History Museum and Whipsnade Zoo – both near to MK – but hadn’t really done much inside this town. Of course Ruby was being lead to believe that Milton Keynes is all roundabouts…

I set that straight with a sunny 7 mile walk including Campbell Park, canal, Willen Lake(s) and Linford Wood.

 

Greenwich and the Thames

My dad and I thought it was about time we had another day trip to London. The main purpose of the trip was to go to the London Transport Museum, but before that we went over to Greenwich on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and had lunch in Greenwich park.

These are possibly not the exact same squirrels, there were a few.

The sun broke through eventually.

We found a beach. On the Thames. With real sand.

You wouldn't know this was London, right?

And that's not all we did/all the photographs I took – as I said earlier, we went to the London Transport Museum. Photographs of which I'm going to post in another blog.
