Bellamy

I have been sat flicking through learn something new everyday, as it's been... well, I haven't looked at the site since last year. This is a bad drawing of Matt Bellamy (in the sense that it doesn't look much like him). Also, it's kind of sad that he's smashed (/wasted) that many guitars but hey, he's Matt Bellamy.

Ellinor's birthday cake

I found a recipe for a Norwegian cake a week or so ago, planning on making it for Ellinor, for her birthday today. The cake is called bløte kake, and is basically a sponge cake with fresh (or de-frosted frozen, in my case) fruit and whipped cream.


And so, with help from Sarah and Joel, we made this cake last night. We didn't get making it until something like 10pm, as we're all very busy people. My Wii did emerge from the cave that it's been hiding in, to play whilst the cake was baking, which was goooood.

This represents mountainous Norway.

Juice & fruit.

 Cake is formed.

 And there we go, the flag was a nice touch.

Sam Winston

This afternoon we had a great lecture from Sam Winston, who is not quite what you'd class as a graphic designer but more of an artist who uses text and words rather than painting etc. I'm not going to say too much, but he's done some great stuff. Plus he was really interesting to listen to, despite not being a designer himself.

Obviously there are stories and ideas behind each of these images, so check out his website for his own descriptions. And more work!
