Some amazing, brilliant people have had the same idea as my university final project (sort of) and are working really hard to make it a real thing – The Museum of British Folklore. Awesome!

Proving Milton Keynes isn't all about roundabouts
My friend Ruby came to visit me today. She lives near Cambridge and has been here a few times (and I there) in the last year or so, but prior to today we tended to venture out of Milton Keynes. We’ve been to Tring Natural History Museum and Whipsnade Zoo – both near to MK – but hadn’t really done much inside this town. Of course Ruby was being lead to believe that Milton Keynes is all roundabouts…
I set that straight with a sunny 7 mile walk including Campbell Park, canal, Willen Lake(s) and Linford Wood.

1930s Japanese posters for travel
I was alerted to these beautiful posters via Twitter yesterday morning. The Tweet linked to Gizmodo, a gadget blog (of all places!), rather than a design/art blog – design blogs really need to share these too!
“These beautiful posters were issued by Japanese rail agencies or tourism bureaus, and were created for domestic use only, to promote travel within Japan and its territories, to various national parks, hot spring resorts and other notable destinations. And damn, the graphic design. Southampton & Winchester
I spent my Saturday in Southampton and came home this afternoon via Winchester (Frank Turner’s home town, wahoo!). I took some photos, both on camera and iPhone, because I like to take photos when I go to new places… and I particularly admire old architecture like castles and cathedrals.
